Abstract: JOHN KHIMPEE R. CARAIG AND LLOYD M. FEM. Attitude of high school students in Saint Gregory Academy Towards Sports. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Sports and Recreational Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2018 Adviser: Mary Ann R. Cardines. The study was conducted to determine the attitude towards sports of high school students in Saint Gregory Academy. Specifically, the study aimed to: describe the demographic characteristic of high school students in SGA in terms of age, sex, and year level; determine the attitude of high school students towards sports; and make sure if the attitude of high school students towards sports significantly differs by age, sex, and year level. A descriptive research design was employed for this study. A total of 288 high school students in Saint Gregory Academy participated in this study. A survey instrument was used to gather information from the participant's frequency range, percentage, analysis of variance and t-test were used to answer the objectives of the study. Finding showed that more than half of high school students were actively engaged in sports and other physical activity in and out of school. The most common reason why high school students did not practice sports and other physical activity in and out of school was lack of time. The most frequently visited SGA facilities by high school students for sports and other physical activity in the past month were classroom, gymnasium, and school ground. The facilities most needed by high school students of SGA was outdoor basketball court and indoor basketball court (gymnasium). The most popular sports or physical activity engaged by high school students of SGA were basketball, dancing, exercise/aerobics, volleyball and bicycling. The most frequently mentioned by high school student's benefit from engaging in sports or other physical activity was improving their strength and endurance, having healthy bone and muscles and reduce anxiety and stress. The results showed that there was no significant difference in the attitude of students in Saint Gregory Academy towards sports when they are grouped according to demographic characteristic.
