Summary: "A beleguerred presidency. When Vice President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo assumed the presidency following the ouster of President Joseph Estrada, she pledged that she would not run for election as president, but would devote all her energies to running the nation. She changed her mind. This volume, the fourth in a series by the author on post-Edsa I presidents, is not a complete picture of the Arroyo presidency. It is a collection of columns written during her administration. It includes comments on events that have transpired during her watch, but the main topics are about the performance of her office. Most of the essays in this volume first appeared in the daily newspaper Today. The pieces dated from June 2005 onwards are from the Philippine Daily Inquirer. This volume, however, does not cover important events which took place after August 2006."--Back cover.
