Abstract: CANA, MARK RHANDEL A., Family Life Situation of Physically Abused Children in Paliparan III, Dasmarinas, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis, Bachelor of Science in Social Work. Cavite State University. Indang, Cavite December 2017. Adviser: Mrs. Merlie C. NahiLat, MSSW. The study was conducted in Barangay Paliparan III, Dasmariinas, Cavite. from September 2017 to October 2017 to determine the family life situation of physically abused children. Specifically the study aimed to find out the family situation of physically abused children, effects of physical abuse to the children and reasons why adults discipline their children using some form of physical punishment. Narrative research design was used in the study and the purposive sampling method was utilized to determine the different effects of physical abuse to the children. The participants of the study were the physically abused children ages eight (8) to seventeen (17) guided by the parents/guardians in Barangay Paliparan III in Dasmarinas City, Cavite, who answered question in gathering information and to assure that there will be no negative effect on them. There were five (5) participants who accepted the interview for this study ages eight (8) to seventeen (17). The participants shared the different life situations, effects and physical abuse experienced. There were different effects of physical abuse to the children such as educational, behavioral, social, emotional, physical and spiritual aspects in their lives. As the study was conducted, the children had the same experiences as abused children, where they were having difficulties in adjusting and coping on their family situation. The children became dependent and mature in facing their challenges in life. They also had different reactions to their parents such as sadness, loneliness, hatred, and being worried about themselves and their family. On the other hand, even though they had struggles to adjust and cope with their situation, they were willing to pursue and achieve their dreams in lives. Moreover, the participants accepted their situation in the family. With the help and support of the family and as parent to the child they accepted their situation.
