Abstract: The study, EFFECT OF FREQUENT PRUNING ON TWO VARIETIES OF SITAO, was conducted at the back yard of the author's house. This study aimed (1) to evaluate the effect of pruning frequencies on the yield of the bush sitao and pole sitao; (2) to determine the frequency of pruning that ‘would favorably affect the yield of the two varieties of © sitao; and (3) to assess the economy of production of pruning on the different varieties of sitao. . Four frquencies of pruning were evaluated on the yield of bush and pole sitao and laid in split-plot using Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three repliications, Two-week interval of pruning, three-week interval of pruning, four-week interval of pruning, and control which is unpruned, were represented by T,, To, Tz, Ty respectively, as the sub-plot. The varieties of sitao used were bush and pole sitao which were represented by V1, and V2, respectively, as the main plot. Significant results were observed. Treatment 1, the two-week interval of pruning, is found out to be the best in almost all tables, with the exception of the number of days from planting to flowering.
