The study mainly focused on the demand for video rental shop services in selected barangays of Indang, Cavite. Specifically, it aimed to: (1) describe the socio-economic characteristics of the renters; (2) determine the preferences of customers for video tapes; and (3) ascertain the factors affecting the demand for tapes.
The study was conducted in selected barangays of Indang, Cavite, namely: Poblacion-Indang, Mahabang Kahoy, Banaba Cerca, Calumpang Lejos and Kayquit. A total of 84 respondents was taken through accidental sampling.
Data were analyzed using the following tools: percentage, range, mean, frequency counts, rank and multiple regression analysis.
Using the full model regression, only family income was found significantly affecting the demand for tapes.
The respondents were mostly female and had reached the college level of schooling. The average family income per month was P16, 649.58.
The household members preferred mostly action type of films followed by science fiction.comedy, romance/love story while the least preferred film was science fiction.
