Abstract: MÅRGES, ROMMEL H. Applied Research (Agriscience Curriculum), Don Severino Agriculture College, Indang, Cavite, March 1988. THE EFFECT OF LEAF REMOVAL ON THE SIZE AND YIELD OF CABBAGE , Adviser: Mr. Alejandro Mojica (Prof Josefino Viado) This study was conducted to find out the effect of removing the leaves on the size and yield of cabbage Ninety plants were equally divided into nine plots and randomly dis tributed to three different treatments, each treatment was replicated three times with ten plants for each replication. The plants were fertilized with the same kind of fertilizer and with the same rate, Fertilization was done, first through basal application one week before planting and second through ring method one month after planting. Plants in treatment I which is the control eave the highest average of head and also the longest diameter of the head. The plants in treatment 2 rate second in average weight of head and in the diameter. The plants in treatment 3 gave the lowest average weight of head and also in the diameter No significant difference was observed in average weight of head and average diameter of the head.
