April 2002. Adviser: Ms. Michelle M. Valerio.
The study was conducted at Carasuchi-Pulo Elementary School, Indang, Cavite on February 2002. Generally, it examined the relationship between parental guidance practices in viewing True Crime and crime awareness level; and it determined the crime awareness level of pupils. Simple random sampling was used in choosing the respondents. Sampling size was determined using Slovin's formula. The survey method was used. Further, questionnaire containing parental guidance practices and crime awareness level were employed to obtain the data. To be more comprehensible, the questions were asked in Filipino. Results of the study show that 49 pupils- respondents who watched True Crime had parental guidance practices; only 17 had none. They had high level of crime awareness in viewing True Crime; and Viewing True Crime with or without parental guidance had no significant relationship with the crime awareness level of the respondents.
