Abstract: Research Student ROBERTO P. ROSARDA Research Title" RESPONSE OF CUCUMBER TO DIFFERENT ORGANIC FERTILIZER Research Adviser Mr. Carlos. N. Rodil This study entitled "Response of Cucumber to Different Organic Fertilizers" was conducted in Alulod, Indang, Cavite from May to August 1989 to know the effects of organic fertilizer on the growth and yield of cucumber and to determine which treatment would exhibit the best results. The different treatments used were T1 — chicken manure, T2- hog ,manure cow manure and— control (No fertilizers applied). The 200—square—meter field was prepared for this experiment until the good tilth of the soil was obtained. The entire field was divided into three blocks (replicates) and these blocks were further subdivided into four treatments to make twelve plots. The Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) was used. One thousand (1000) grams of different organic fertilizers were applied basally on the assigned plots, The results of this study revealed that organic fertilizers had significant effects on the growth and yield of cucumber in all the treatments used 0 Treatment 1 (chicken manure) was found to be the best. Plants treated with chicken manure formed female flowers earlier, produced more number of fruits, produced longer and heavier fruits than the plants with the other treatments.
