Mercado The study entitled Demographic Profile, Anxiety Level and Academic Achievement of Selected High School Students of Kaytitinga National High School in Alfonso, Cavite SY 2005-2006 was conducted first and second grading period of school year 2005-2006 at Kaytitinga National High School in Alfonso, Cavite. The main objective of this study was to determine the anxiety levels of selected high school students of Kaytitinga National High School in Alfonso, Cavite in relation to their academic achievement and demographic profile during the school year 2005-2006. This study aimed to: describe the profile of the respondents, assess the anxiety levels of the respondents, evaluate the academic achievement level of the respondents, determine if anxiety level has any relationship with academic achievement, determine if there is any significant difference in anxiety level when respondents are grouped according to gender, age, year level, and occupation of their parents and determine if there is any significant difference in academic achievement when respondents are grouped according to gender, age, year level, and occupation of their parents A total of 125 selected high school students of Kaytitinga National High School were considered in this study. The researcher used the Descriptive Correlational Design. The 125 selected high school students of Kaytitinga National High School in Alfonso, Cavite were chosen using Stratified Random Sampling by means of fish bowl technique. The researcher used the Filipino Adolescent Anxiety Scale and the grade point average (GPA) of the selected high school students from first to second grading periods, SY 2005-2006. The study revealed that there is a significant relationship between anxiety level and academic achievement of the respondents. However, there was no significant relationship between academic achievement and the students' age, year level and occupation of their parents.
