Demographic Profile and Course Taken in Relation to the AnxietyLevel of Selected Third Year College Students of Cavite State University SY2005 - 2006 Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University, Indang. April 2006. Adviser : Mrs Alodia C. Mercado The study attempted to determine the demographic profile of the respondents, and the course they were taking in the relation to the anxiety level of selected third year college students of Cavite State University SY 2005-2006. Specifically, this study sought to 1.) determine the demographic profile of the respondents I the terms of gender, course, age, family income, and parent’s occupation: 2.) determine the anxiety level of the respondents in the relation to the following dimension, social dimension, family dimensions, academic/school dimension and personal dimension; 3.) determine if the respondents demographic profile is related to their anxiety level; 4.) determine if course taken is related to the anxiety level of the respondents; and 5.) find out the other reason affecting the respondent’s anxiety level in the relation to their course as cited by themselves. The 144 respondents randomly selected using the fishbowl technique were third year college students from seven colleges in the main campus. This study was conducted during the period of November 2005 to January 2006. Said respondents were subjected to two sets of questionnaires: one from the demographic profile and the other for the anxiety level. The study revealed that the majority of the respondents had low level of anxiety, even if the most of them belonged to the lower status of life as indicated by theirs parent’s occupation and monthly income of P9,999.00 and below to support their daily needs .Based on the findings of the study, the researcher recommend the students to understand the nature and source of their anxiety and find a better way of coping with it. Parent must be considerate enough in supervising their children not only inside the house but also in their needs in school. They should also know their role as parent and help their children to realize their way of living. It was also recommended to the teachers to render a good relationship with their students because it may also help them lessen to their anxiety. For the future researchers, they should have a broader study about anxiety that will contribute to the knowledge of anyone who is dealing with it.
