The study was conducted to determine the effects of Interactive Health Education on compliance of cigarette users in Cavite State University — Main Campus to smoking cessation. Specifically, the study aimed to: describe the demographic profile of the participants in terms of: age, sex and allowance per week; know the history of smoking of the participant in terms of: smoking status, daily cigarette consumption, duration of smoking, age of starting smoking, reason to start smoking and brand preferences; determine the level of compliance of cigarette smokers before and after interactive health education between those who are exposed and not exposed to the intervention; and determine the differences of before and after implementation of interactive health education between those who are exposed and not exposed to Interactive Health Education. The study was conducted from September 2017 to April 2018 in Cavite State University Main-Campus, using quasi experimental design specifically the pre-test and post-test design. A total population of 60 clients aged 16 to 25 years old, cigarette smokers-student of Cavite State University-Main Campus Indang, Cavite. A total of 30 was divided into 15 males and 15 female clients included in the treatment group who have given Interactive Health Education enriched with interaction. Otherwise 30 clients also been divided into 15 males and 15 females assigned as the control group wherein they will not be exposed to intervention.
Students who are smokers ages (16-25) may continue the health interventions given by the researchers to help themselves to cease smoking. They should be compliant especially when their personal health is at stake. The smokers must have a good decision making; responsibility and eagerness to quit smoking should be strengthening to become more effective and successful to coming years. Government should have continuing implementation of Anti-Smoking. Also, they should reach out and execute education on students who are smokers. Another study should be executed by future researchers. The school administration may formulate policies and rules on smoking among students in Cavite State University Main Campus.
