CANO, JAYDINE D., DUMAGAT, SHERLYN A. Psychometric Properties and Norms of Adapted Procrastination Scale for Public High School Students in South Cavite. Research Study. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2018. Research Adviser: Dr. Cecilia B. Banaag.
The study aimed to determine the psychometric properties and norms of the Adapted Procrastination Scale for the junior public high school students in South Cavite. In addition, it tried to determine the levels of procrastination of the mentioned participants. The study used descriptive correlational design. The participants in the study were the Grade 7 to 10 students of the seven most populated public high schools in South Cavite, and they were determined using stratified proportional random sampling and cluster sampling. The validity index of the scale was determined by the use of qualitative item analysis and it indicated that the direction, items, and scaling were clearly stated. In confirmatory factor analysis there were two dimensions, namely: Task Postponement and Pre-crastination. It also used the concurrent validity, yet it was found that the current grades of the students and their test scores had a negligible relationship. The reliability index of the scale was determined by the use of test-retest and internal consistency/inter-item reliability and it was found that the scale had an item consistency and time consistency indicating that the scale was indeed reliable. The norms were determined in terms of stanine, z-score, and percentile.
