Abstract: COSME, WENNIELLE M. and EVANGELISTA, RAMON JORGE P., Development of iFileman: an Interactive File Manager Undergraduate Thesis, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. March 2012. Adviser: Mr. Simeon E. Daez The study was conducted to develop an interactive file manager called iFileman that would understand human language and help users to manage their files easily. The center of this study is to improve the management of computer files. The iFileman would work as an assistant for the user to manage and control their files. It can edit and delete existing files, and manage files and documents with less effort. The Sequential Search Algorithm was used in the development of the software. Iterative lifecycle model was used in the development of the software that includes Requirements, Design, Implementation, and Test and Review. The basic idea is that the software should be developed in increments, where each increment adds some functional capability to the system until the full system is implemented. The following software are used in the study: Windows XP and Windows 7 as the operating systems, and Microsoft Visual Basic .Net 2010 as the programming language. The software was evaluated using the following criteria: User Friendliness, Reliability, Consistency, Accuracy, Efficiency, User interaction, Technical Aspects of the software and material, Information in the program. Evaluators were composed of college students and professionals. The software passed all the given criteria in the evaluation and met all the requirements of the software.
