Abstract: ARROZA, DIANNE KEIZEL P. and CONTRERAS, MICAHELLA D. Library Users Monitoring System Using Radio Frequency Identification for Cavite State University - Main Campus. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2017. Adviser: Ms. Charlotte B. Carandang. The study aimed to develop and to substitute the existing manual process of library users monitoring system of Cavite State University, which was conducted from May 2017 up to May 2018. Specifically, it aimed to: 1.) provide a secure system as storage for the users information. 2.) produce a system that introduce a new way of logging in and out process and will monitor the hours of the users in the library and lastly, 3.) develop an updated system that can generate a library usage report; The researchers used Agile Extreme Programming (XP) as the methodology for this study. The Extreme programming is an agile software development methodology. It is a lightweight methodology combining a set of existing software development practices. It is based on values of simplicity, communication, feedback, courage, and respect. This method introduces four phases; planning, designing, coding, and testing.. This is guideline that helps the researchers to have a comprehensive analysis and arrive at certain fundamental conclusion. The software application used in developing and designing was C#, it is an object-oriented language that supports the concepts of encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism. In addition to these basic object-oriented principles, C# makes it easy to develop software components through several innovative language constructs The developed system was evaluated in accordance to the functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency maintainability, portability and user-friendliness. The participants of this evaluation were composed of the head of University Library, Mrs. Leonita C. Costa, public information staff Ms. Lodivinia R. Ayos, students and IT experts from the Department of Information Technology of Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. Evaluation results indicate that the system has passed, completed the needed requirements and achieved the objective of the study.
