Abstract: FRANCISCO, NHORLE MAE F., LACSADO, LESLEY P., MOJICA, DANIELLE ANNE M., Lived Experiences of Guest Relations’ Officers Undergoing Papanicolaou Smear Test in Trece Martires City, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Cavite State University — Main Campus, Indang, Cavite, Philippines. December 2018. Adviser: Dr. Evelyn M. Del Mundo. The study was established to uncover the lived experiences of Guest Relations’ Officers who are undergoing Papanicolaou Smear Test, distinctly, their predisposition, conditions encountered, and perceptions. This study was conducted to women between the ages of 21-40 at Barangay Gregorio, Trece Martires City. Purposive or judgmental sampling was used in selecting twelve (12) participants. The significant themes have been greatly met from the data gathered from the answers of ten participants meeting the saturation point of the study. Guide questions were made and checked by experts in their field of specialization. The semi-structured personal interview questionnaire was used for three visits. The first part of the questionnaire consists of demographic profile and the second part is the three major guide questions asked to the participants to determine the in-depth experiences of GROs undergoing Papanicolaou Smear Test. All of the predispositions, conditions encountered prior, upon, and after Papanicolaou Smear Test and the perceptions of Guest Relations’ Officers in undergoing the test contributed to several themes which narrated the lived experiences of the participants. The themes discovered were awareness, reasons, experience, feedbacks, test results, benefits, compliance and noncompliance. The themes were formulated under the predispositions, conditions, and perceptions The results show that all of the themes have been considered and were greatly affected based on the responses of the participants. Primarily, they have understood what is best when it comes to both their safety and health. They were able to discuss and share on how well they know the test based on their awareness, reasons, experience, remarks, test results and benefits. After knowing the Papanicolaou smear test, they perceived this as a benefit but with barriers. They eliminated these barriers to comply with the test.
