Backyard hog fattening: An Entrepreneurial Development Project.Entrepreneurial Development Project Report Bachelor in Agricultural Entrepreneurship Major in Animal Production. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. Adviser: Mrs. Abigail P. Daria. Backyard swine production was conducted at Brgy. Sicat, Alfonso, Cavite from December 27, 2018 to April 9, 2019. The project aimed to acquire additional skills in hog raising in terms of actual operation and management of a hog fattening production and to determine the profitability of hog raising. The hog fattening project used four weanlings that were purchased from a backyard farmer in Brgy. Sicat. The weight of the weanlings are range from 17-19kg. The feeds were bought from Llamado's Feeds Supply. For the first month the stocks consumed 200kg of hog starter which amounted to P6, 030.00. They also consumed 600kg of hog grower which amounted to P17, 640.00. After 105 days of rearing the stocks obtained an average weight of 93kg with an average daily gain of 893.33grams per day. The hogs consumed 200kilograms per head giving a feed conversion ratio of 2.67. A total of P 41,008.00were used for buying stock, feeds and medicine. The business gave a net income which amounted P 3,168.00 giving a return on investment (ROl) of 7.72%.
