The project was conducted at Cavite State University, Barangay Bancod, Indang, Cavite from June 15, 2018 to September 27, 2018. The backyard hog fattening project was conducted for the student entrepreneur to: (1) acquire hands an experience on hog fattening; (2) acquire managerial skills in growing hogs; (3) determine the profitability of hog fattening enterprise; and (4) gain profit from the production. The project started with four piglets that were purchased from a backyard hog raiser in Barangay Pulo, Indang, Cavite. The four piglets had an average initial body weight of 19.5 kg. After 105 days of fattening period, the fattened hogs reached an average final weight of 97.8 kg with an average daily gain of 738.46 g. The hogs consumed an average of 206.25 kg of feeds, giving an average feed conversion efficiency of 2.68. A total capital of P 46,202 was used in the project. The total sales amounted to P 48,960 and the return on investment (ROI) was 5.96 percent.
