Abstract: LESTER C. RAVELO. Backyard Hog Fattening in Alulod, Indang, Cavite: An Entrepreneurial Development Project. Bachelor in Agricultural Entrepreneurship Major in Animal Production. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. Adviser: Dr. Magdalena N. Alcantara. This project was conducted at Barangay Alulod Indang, Cavite from December 09, 2018 to March 15, 2019. The project served as an opportunity for the student to acquire entrepreneurial skills in hog fattening; gain additional knowledge in hog raising; determine the profitability of raising 6 piglets and earn profit from this project. The project had six weanlings with an average initial weight of 16 kg. The weanlings were purchased from Lintiw Indang, Cavite. They were provided feeds from CAFFMACO during the whole fattening period. After 97 days, the hogs had an average final weight of 86.08 kg, average gain in weight of 70.08 kg and average daily gain of 722.47 g. The computed average feed consumption was 208.33 kg which resulted to feed conversion efficiency of 2.94. The total cost of production of the project was P60,119.61. The total sale was 70,180 giving a net income of 10,060.39. The return of investment computed was 16.73 percent.
