Abstract: DIANA, JOHN TIMOTHY B. and LAGURA, CHRISTIAN JOSEPH 0. Development of a Centralized Door Lock and Power Window Instructional Trainer. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Industrial Technology major in Automotive Technology Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Prof. Danielito R. Escano. The power window system is the system to open and close the windows by switch operation. The power window motor rotates when the power window switch was operated. The power window motor revolution is then changed to up-and-down motion by the window regulator to open or close the window. The power door lock is a mechanism that locks and unlocks the vehicle's doors with the push of a button (power door-lock actuator). Mounted inside the door, an electric motor, gears and linkage, and a cable that extends or retracts were used to operate the lock. The design project is about door lock and power window that will help the students to identify the advantages and disadvantages of modern power window and door lock technology. The design project objective is to construct and develop a centralized door lock and power window instructional trainer. The design project served as the theoretical model and helped to enhance the knowledge of the students about the power window and centralized door lock works. Also, it helped them to lessen the hardship on how to install the mechanism door lock and power window for future studies on the same nature of existing problem. The development of the design project started with cutting the tubular bars into small pieces to construct a frame. To hold the weight and stability of the instructional trainer, it was fully welded with angular bars for the braces of the frame. The researchers connected the entire wiring installation based from the correct the wiring diagram to make the power window and door lock work. It was provided with additional plywood for the ignition switch, banana jack and banana plug for the convenience of the students in wiring activity. Also, a heavy duty skid wheel was installed to move the instructional trainer easily inside the automotive laboratory. The frame has a dimension of 66 in x 31 in x 31 in. The design project focused on the mechanism and operation of a power window and locking system of a real car door. The indicator lights served as two rear windows and the actuator represents how the locking system of rear door works. The trunk lock motor represented as the mechanism of a trunk. The students must connect all the function and features in the banana jack to make the entire mechanism work. As the students gets the exact wiring of the banana jack in the trainer, the student will push the ignition switch to operate the main switch, power window, door lock, and other components. As the students press the power window right switch to up, the power window will operate and it will go up; the same thing will happen if they press the power window to down. And also, if the students press the switch of the door lock the two front door will lock and the two actuator will push the rod; it means that the two rear door will also lock. When they press the door lock switch to unlock, the two front door will unlock and the rod of the actuator will pull; it means that the two rear doors is also unlock. when they press the trunk lock switch the trunk lock will open to indicate the operation of trunk of a real car. The design project was evaluated in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Technology by 25 students and five instructors. The functionality and reliability of the design project was evaluated which gained an overall mean of 4.66 with an outstanding degree or level. Based on the obtained result, the design project was proven and tested that it was helpful for the automotive students and instructors to expand their knowledge about the mechanism of door lock and power window. Hence, it is useful for them to obtain knowledge about power window and door lock mechanism. The authors highly recommend to improve other components and to add more features for the better performance of the instructional trainer.

The power window system is the system to open and close the windows by switch

power window motor revolution is then changed to up-and-down motion by the window regulator
to open or close the window. The power door lock is a mechanism that locks and unlocks the

identify the advantages and disadvantages of modern power window and door lock technology.
The design project objective is to construct and develop a centralized door lock and
power window instructional trainer. The design project served as the theoretical model and
