Abstract: UMBAL, CARL JEROME C. and VIIDALLO, DANIEL JOSEPH V. Flood Control and Drainage System in Bacoor, Cavite. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Cavite State University Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Engr. Renato B. Cubilla. The design project entitled "Flood Control and Drainage system in Bacoor, Cavite" was conducted at Cavite State University — Main campus from September 2018 to April 2019. The study aimed to provide an efficient design of a road drainage system in Bacoor. Cavite. Specifically., the study aimed to identify the possible problem in the drainage system of the city of Bacoor and reason behind the numerous flooding, develop a design project with regards to the flood control and drainage system of the city and determine the total cost of the drainage system. Through site inspection, the problems were identified and the reasons behind numerous flooding were found out through interviews of the people nearby the site. The coverage area of the study was limited to Sm Bacoor to Panapaan II road. The total length of the road was 1075 meters. The proposed design of drainage system was consisted of Reinforced Concrete Pipe including manholes, manhole covers, curb and inlets. The computed diameter for the Reinforced Concrete Pipe drainage was 1.20 meters. The average cost per linear of the canal was P 6,664.82. The total estimated cost of the project was P 14,329,370.00 for its entire 2150 meter length. The authors concluded that the design of drainage system is efficient and effective to carry the surface runoff considering the computed discharges. The material used for the design was more durable and easier and faster to install than others. The design project could be used as reference by the City Engineering Office of Bacoor, Cavite for future implementation. The study could also be used as reference for other students who want to pursue the same study.
