Abstract: BACANI, YVETTE H., BLANCA, ERIKA JOYCEL R. and CANUEL, JEDLIENE A., Development Plan of Public Market in Indang, Cavite. Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Engr. Renato B. Cubilla. A public market is a place or location where people within the town or people from nearby areas regularly gather to purchase or sell livestock and other goods. The design of a development plan of public market in Indang, Cavite was conducted at Cavite State University — Main Campus from October 2018 to May 2019. The study aimed to create a development plan of the existing market and a structural analysis of one building, the four-storey dry market building. The development plan includes the following: the four-storey dry market building, the multi-storey transport terminal and parking area, market food court, two-storey wet market building, as well as the market office, other food stalls and the fruits and vegetable docks commonly known as the bagsakan section. The study provided the architectural plans of all the buildings in the development plan. The four-storey dry market building was the only building with structural analysis. Also, the study provided a structural plan for the said building. The analysis of the individual structural member was acquired with the help of Structural Aided Analysis and Design (STAAD) software. The structural design of the building was done following the guidelines set by the National Structural Code of the Philippines (NSCP 2015) standards ACI Code. Ultimate Stress Design (USD) was used in designing the concrete members. The study also provided the electrical, and plumbing plans, construction specifications, and cost estimates of the four-storey building. The design was proven safe after a series of analysis and computations. The researchers recommended the future researchers to have a structural analysis and design of the other buildings to utilize the full potential of the proposed site development of the market. The estimated total project cost of the proposed four-storey dry market is Php 216,519,501.00.
