This project was conducted at Brgy. Alulod Indang, Cavite from December 09, 2018 to March 15, 2019. The project aimed to provide the student entrepreneur an opportunity to aquire more knowledge on the proper management of swine, determine the profitability of hog fattening, and earn profit from hog fattening enterprise. The project had six piglets that were purchased from a hog raiser in Barangay Lintiw, Indang, Cavite and with an average initial body weight of 16 kg. The feeds were bought from CAFFMACO, Silang, Cavite. They were fed three times a day during the whole production period.
After 97 days of rearing, the hogs weighed an average of 86.08 kg. The hogs consumed an average of 208.33 kg of commercial feeds. The feed efficiency computed was 2.98. The project incurred a total production cost of P 60,119.61 which was used for buying stocks, feeds and other miscellaneous expenses. The total sales was P 70, 180.00. The computed net income of the project was P 10,060.39 equivalent to a return on investment (ROI) of 16.73 percent.
