Abstract: MARERO, NERISSA BELIGON. "ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF AN APPROPRIATE PEDESTRIAN SUSPENSION BRIDGE ACROSS SALUYSOY CREEK-I CONNECTING PINAZO TRAINING CENTER AND SAKA COMPOUND". Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, March 2001 Adviser: Eng'r. Allan Rowel V. Alonalon The "Analysis and Design of an Appropriate Pedestrian Suspension Bridge Across Saluysoy Creek-I Connecting Pinazo Training Center and SAKA Compound" was conducted at the Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite from August 2000 to February 2001. Specifically, it aims to: develop a method in analysis and design of a pedestrian suspension bridge; to conduct a detailed survey of the proposed project site to determine the length of the bridge; to design an economical pedestrian suspension bridge; to determine the estimated cost of erecting such structure; and to provide the university with a structural plan, data and specifications for future use and reference. The result of the design was described to be adequate and safe, all factors considered. It was hoped to bring convenience to the CVSU students and employees, as well as in promoting accessibility of the SAKA premises to the campus proper. The design was economical compared to the previously constructed pedestrian suspension bridges within the province of Cavite. Analysis and design of other bridge accessories like connections, stairways and walkways were proposed for additional expedience. Installation of nylon net under floor system, fencing and lighting scheme were also suggested to enhance safety within the vicinity.
