A study entitled "Statistical Software Development for Experimental Designs was conducted at Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite from November 2004 to February
2005
It aimed to develop a statistical software program that will enable student researchers to acquire reliable conclusions using analyses of Experimental Designs. The project was developed after 64 hours of code generation and testing and was named Statistical Package for Experimental Designs (Specs) version 1.0.
Different sets of organized data were collected from various sources and entered in Specs. The results were tabulated. The same set of data and the same procedures were done using MSTATC and Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), two of the most commonly used statistical software’s.
The results of the analyses were compared, and it was found that there were no differences between them. The effectiveness, therefore, of the developed software is comparable to that of MSTATC and SPSS
The cost of the developed software was found to be less expensive than the existing statistical packages.
