The study entitled, "Respiratory Disorders Caused by Smoking Among Adult Patients of Tanza Family General Hospital", was conducted on March 2005 at Tanza Family General Hospital Indang, Cavite. It aimed to (1) identify the different respiratory disorders caused by smoking; and (2) assess which of the different respiratory disorders are most common relative to age, gender, and status. Descriptive comparative design was used with 314 samples of randomly selected patients who were diagnosed with respiratory disorders caused by smoking. The data taken were age, gender and status. Asthma, pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, cancer and pulmonary tuberculosis were the most common disorders of adult smokers. Pneumonia was the leading disorder caused by smoking which was most prevalent among elderly males and married adult smokers.
