March 2006. Advisers: Dr. Josefina R. Rint, Ph.D. and Mrs. Evelyn P. Del Mundo, R.N. This study on "Correlational Study on Obesity and their Common Illness among Women Aged 35 and above" was conducted at Cavite City form September 2005 to October 2005. This aimed to identify the most common underlying illness associated with obese women aged 35 and above and to correlate these illnesses to age and weight. A total of 50 obese women residing at Cavite City whose ages are 35 and above were the subject of the study. They were interviewed and given a questionnaire to get the necessary data. Instructional profiles of the respondents like name, age, weight, height, illness, and medical history was collected. Spearman Rank Correlation was used to correlate these illnesses to obese women. Results showed that the prevalence of illnesses to obesity took place in a wide range of age and weight. Arthritis, Cardiovascular Diseases, Daytime Sleepiness, Deep Vein Thrombosis, DM1, DM2, Renal Disease, Gout, Hypertension, Impaired Respiratory Function, Infertility, Low Back Pain, Obstetric Complication and Pancreatitis were the most common illnesses that obese women were afflicted. Age and weight are correlated heterogeneously to various types of diseases associated with obesity.
