The study was conducted to evaluate the yield performance of radish as a result of weed competition duration and frequency of watering.
An area of 168 square meters was plowed and harrowed twice with an interval of one week to make the soil friable.
Three weeks after the treatments were applied, rapid growth was observed on plants watered three times and five times a week and every day, On the other hand, stunted growth was observed on plants watered once a week and those not watered throughout the duration of the study. Weed competition was nil because it was observed that even the unweeded plants did not show any significant difference from weeded plants after two weeks,
The diameter of storage roots gathered from plots watered three times a week gave an average of 7.93 centimeters as compared to everyday watering with an average of 3.87 centimeters 0 Likewise, clean culture throughout with everyday watering produced the biggest and the longest storage roots with an average of 3.92 and 13.07 centimeters, respectively. It also produced the heaviest roots with an average of 112.33 grams as compared to the unweeded and unwatered plants with an average of 33092 grams
