"Undergraduate Field Study, Bachelor of Science in Business Management Major in Economics, Cavite State University April 2001. Adviser: Mrs. Nelia E. Feranil. A field study was conducted at 8th floor Pacific Star Building Sen. Gil. Puyat, Makati Avenue. Makati, City from October 2000 to January 2001. The study aimed to apply the gained knowledge that would be useful for future employment, get exposed to different activities in the company and identify the common problems encountered in the operations department of the company. Data were gathered through observation and actual participation in the firm's activities with the personnel and other staff of the firm. Other relevant information were collected from the CvSU Research Center, University Library and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The Del Monte Fresh Produce Inc. is closely tied with the history of modern America from a fresh large international supplier of wholesome and top-quality fresh fruits of the Del Monte. The firm is second in market position of processed fruits and vegetables around the world. The corporation is producing fresh fruits like banana and pineapple at their plantation in Davao City. The field study focused in the administration office particularly the service section. Problems in administration office like the application of knowledge, skills and orientation and practices were encountered because it is very difficult for a beginner to show the real personality and essential skills on the first job experiences. It was found out that the company lacked computers to encode the record of some clients and the management. To improve the conduct of the field study, the coordinator of the college should meet personally the representative of the firm that the student trainee be assigned in the area in accordance with the field study of specialization. An orientation program should be conducted prior to the field study, particularly the nature of work that the trainee will perform. The university should also assist the students in looking for the establishment/firm available for the conduct of the field study.
