This study " Response of Tomato "seedlings to Different Soil Media" aimed to determine which of the different soil media used will give the best results in the growth of tomato seedlings. It was conducted from December 1978 to January 1979 in Barrio Luksuhin, Silang, Cavite.
Different soil media were used in equal proportions distributed at random in twenty one seedboxes comprising the treatments, From the results of the experiment, treatment 2 ( hog manure + sand + garden soil ) gave significant effect on the growth of tomato seedlings with respect to the height, fresh and dry weight of the seedlings and length of the roots measured at a definite days interval up to thirty five days,
Findings indicate that the use of hog manure + sand and garden soil influenced greatly the growth and stand of the seedlings of tomato, Good returns could be expected from this crop. The location, variety, fertility of the soil and various environmental factors should likewise be considered.
