"Performance of Garlic as Influenced by Planting Dates and Different Levels of Ipil-,pil Leaves in Upland Cavite Conditions" Prof. Adriano G. Romen, . Thesis Adviser. The study was conducted in a 162 square meter field at the Experimental Field of the Don Severino Agricultural College from November 1989 to March 1990, The objectives of this study were to determine the performance of garlic to different planting dates and different levels of ipil-ipil leaves in Upland Cavite conditions and to determine the best planting date and identify the right level of ipil-ipil that will favor best growth and yield of garlic. The results of the study showed that plants in all treatments were significantly affected by the planting dates and levels of ipil-ipil. It was found out that the November 24, 1989, planting date one, with five kilograms per square meter of ipil-ipil leaves produced the highest number of leaves, tallest plant, longest leaves, widest equatorial diameter of cloves and highest computed yield per plot and per hectare. Based on the results of the study, it is concluded that the yield of garlic can be increased by planting on November 24, 1989 and applying five kilograms per square meter of Ipil-ipil leaves.
