"GROWTH PERFORMANCE OF ASPARAGUS USING DIFFERENT KINDS OF GROWING MEDIA UNDER DRIP IRRIGATION SYSTEM. Adviser: Engr. Renato B. Cubilla. The study was conducted at the Experimental station of the Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite from October 1993 to February 1994 to evaluate the growth performance of asparagus using different kinds of growing media under drip irrigation system. Five treatments with five replications were used in the study. They were: T1(50% rice hull + 50% garden soil), T22 (50% coffee pulp + 50% garden soil), T, (40% sawdust + 40% cow Drip Irrigation method was used in the study and the amount of water applied varied with the growing seasons. Growing media influenced the growth performance of manure + 20 % garden soil) and t5 (100% garden soil asparagus. Different growing media resulted in growth patterns. T2 and T4favored the growth of in terms of height with a mean of 136.4 and 148.6. different asparagus also favored the growth of asparagus in terms of root length, weight of spears developed and depth of water applied with a mean of 26.6, 0.338 and 4.3275. It was also found that T3 and T4 had the highest number of spears developed with a mean of 9.00 and 7.40.
