Online resources: Abstract: The project, Performance of Mungbean in a slopy area is an income generating project initiated by the author under the farm practice program of the Don Severino Agricultural College and the Agricultural Education Outreach Project. This was conducted at Lumipa, General Aguinaldo, Cavite from August 1984 to February 1985. The field was owned by Mr. Virgilio Angeles- the farmer-—cooperator. This project aimed at utilizing slopy areas by employing recommended cultural management practices in growing mungbean. An area of around 5,000 square meters was utilized for the growing of mongo. It was prepared by plowing and harrowing twice at weekly interval. The farmer cooperator was provided with three and one-half gantas of mongo seeds amounting to F94.50 at 27.00 per ganta; one bag of complete fertilizer (14-14-14) which cost #300.00. Cash inputs amounting to 2575.00 was used for the labor expenses. Planting was done during the first week of September. Seeds started to germinate five days after sowing. Mungbean pods were harvested eighty days after planting when pods turned dark brown to plack. A total of forty five gantas valued at 234.00 per ganta gave a gross income of #1,530.00. After deducting the expenses of 2944.00 a net income of 2556.00 was realized.
