Abstract: The project entitled "Vegetable Production Through Bio-Intensive Technology" was conducted at the Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite from September, 1985 to February, 1986. Its objective was to enable the student to put into practice the technical know-how in producing vegetables continuously through bio-intensive technology. This is a low input approach to minimize the use of expensive chemicals in the production of year round fresh and good quality vegetables. An area of 400 square meter feet was used in this project. Three plots with a dimension of 5 feet by 20 feet were laid out. All the materials were pre-pared and procedures were strictly followed in constructing the beds. Fence was constructed enclosing the project to safeguard the plants from animals. Continuous planting of vegetables was done after each harvesting to utilize the vacant area. Insect repellant crops were also planted to control insect infestation. Based on the results, an average daily harvest of 2.5 kilograms of vegetables priced at P5.00/kilogram' was obtained. The project had a total gross income of P1, 250.00. After deducting all the expenses, the net production income was P689, 25. Since this study aimed to produced vegetables for home consumption, the above computation was made as an assumption based on the present market price of the vegetables.
