The farm practice was conducted at Barangay Buna ;Jejos, Indang, Cavite from September 9, 1986 to January 15, 1987.
The project was a joint activity between the student outreach agent and a farmer-cooperator. A loan of P470.90 from DSAC Extension Services was used as capital.
The piglets were given commercial feeds such as hog grower mash, hog fattener/finisher mash and about 15% of coconut residue added to commercial feeds were given twice a day every other two days.
During the entire period of the farm practice, hogs consumed a total of 445 kilograms of feed and exhibited a feed efficiency of 5.63 kilograms which resulted in a total weight of 124 kilograms dress weight. After deducting the total expenses of 13,997.70 from the gross income of P4,500.00, the project incurred a net labor return of P502.30.
