Abstract: The farm practice project was conducted in Cabuco, Trece Martires City from July to December 1986. It aimed to help the farmer in maximizing profit through the introduction of new methods and techniques in intercropping sweet potato with corn and to assist the farmer cooperator in the operation and proper management of the project. An area of 5,000 square meter was used for the project. The variety of sweet potato used was VSP-2, while the variety BPI-2 was used for corn. The land was prepared by plowing and harrow-ing twice at an interval of one week. Corn and sweet potato was simultaneously planted. Sweet potato was planted in between the hills of the corn. Basal application of fertilizer was done. A week after fertilization plants were alternately sprayed with Furadan and Endox at weekly interval to control harmful insects. Twenty five days after planting, side dress-ing application of remaining seventy five kilograms of complete fertilizer was done followed by hilling-up to cover the fertilizer. Harvesting of corn was done seventy five days after planting. Corn was sold as green corn, Sweet potato was harvested ninety days after planting. The harvested corn averaged 8,000 pieces and were marketed at P.50 per ear, while harvested marketable sweet potato tuber averaged 875 kilograms and was sold at P1.50 per kilogram.
