Abstract: An on-campus farm practice activity on construction for a housing module for broilers using local materials was conducted at the Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite, from December 1986 to March 1987. This activity was primarily designed to put a cheap, durable and comfortable broiler housing for farmers. The use of matured madre de cacao posts, matured bamboo, dried cogon, used agiho and yakal lumber incurred a total expenses of one thousand four hundred eighty pesos (P1,480.00) to put up a 3.50 meters wide and 3.00 meters high broiler house. This could house a minimum of 65 up 100 birds at floor spice of 0.80 to 1.00 square foot per bird. The latter capacity can be accommodated if the feed storage spice is converted to rearing quarters.
