Abstract: The project was conducted at Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite for a period of eight (8) months, July 1986 to February 1987 to determine which among the improved varieties of mongo is most suitable intercrop with cassava that will give a high return with low cost of production, and to know more practical knowledge in planting cassava and mongo following the intercropping system of production. A seventy five sq. m. (75) field was plowed and harrowed twice before mongo and cassava were planted. Planting was done simultaneously on July 29, 1986. After three days, the mongo seeds sown have completely germinated. After twelve (12) days, true leaf formations were observed on mango plants and have uniform growth in the third week. On the fourth week, vigorous growth of the weeded crops was observed, while those un weeded plants showed stunted growth. Cassava germinated seventh day after planting and the trend of growth was the same as that of the mongo crop in the weeded and un-weeded field. The different varieties of mango used were the following: MV1-EGM 2764, MV2-EGM 2755, MV3-VC 1973 3-B-3-B and MV4-VC 1131 SDA. Weeding and cultivation started two (2) weeks from the time of planting Urea was applied by side dressing
