Abstract: A project on growing fattening hogs was con-ducted at Barangay Banaba Lejos, Indang, Cavite, in a residential lot owned by Luis Rolle who served as his farmer-cooperator. It lasted from August 1939 to December 1988. It aimed to determine the level of profitability of raising three market hogs by applying a specific system of feeding as well as the proper management required on the care of feeder hogs. This project also aimed to reduce the cost of production of fattening hogs by substituting part of the commercial feeds with camote tops and cassava tubers. Feeder hogs were provided with wet feeds. Mash feeding was supplemented with camote tops and cassava tubers to supplement the needed energy in the finishing stage. Deworming at two months interval, everyday bathing and monthly weighing were done. In five months feeding, fattened hogs attained an average final weight of 75 kilograms live weight. The total gain in weight out of 225 kilograms total body weight was 201 kilograms. The amount of 032.00 per kilogram live weight gave a corresponding rate of return which amounted to 0630.60 or an average of 0210.20 per head. For the improvement of the management technology applied, proper hygiene and sanitation practices; were also considered to ensure profit.
