A joint project the supplementation of banana stalk to the finishing ration of hogs with the aim of accelerating growing rate, reduction of feed cost and its continuous practice was conducted at Barangay Agusos, Indang, Cavite from August 1988 to December 1988. Twenty percent of Banana stalks and eighty percent of commercial feeds was given to the three fattening hogs during the third month up to their marketing stage. This mixture was provided twice a day using wet feeding method. The three hogs attained a total body weight of 266 kgs after four months feeding and had a total gain in weight of 224 kgs. The total feed consumption was 775 kgs with an average of 258.33 kgs. Hogs gave an average of feed efficiency of 3.46. Farmer cooperator was found to be convinced of using banana stalk as feed supplement for fattening hogs. The project netted an income of 0482.35.
