This farm practice was conducted at Banaba Lejos, Indang, Cavite from. September to November 1988. It was a joint activity of the student and the farmer cooperator. The project aimed to reduce the cost of feeds with the use of gabi leaf meal as feed supplement for growing finishing broilers. A total of 150 day old chicks was used. They were fed with starter mash from a day old up to the fourth week. On the fifth week, the feeds were shifted to mixed gabi leaf meal and commercial feeds at the rate of 30-70. The birds obtained a total weight of 224.4 kilograms with a total feed consumption of 600 kilograms. The project realized a net income of 068, 5.62.
