Abstract: The Farm Practice conducted from the Philippine Rural Life Center, at Palapala, Dasmarinas, Cavite trom April 27, 1981 to June 2, 1981 primarily aimed to have an actual exposure to the livestock management in the said farm° The farm which was established by Mr. Dick Fagan in 1968, was supported by several religious sectors and the Heifer Project of the United States of America. The seventeen hectares farm had a livestock population of 50U different breeds of goats, 12U pigs, 70 Peking ducks, 4U geese, 39 rabbits and 15 heads of sheep at time of the training. Twice a day dry feeding of concentrate supplemented with either soilage and silage was provided in most livestock including sheep, goat and cattle. They were also allowed to graze in the pasture for an extra source of feeds. Deworming, immunization, quarantine and strict hygiene and sanitation were followed in the farm. Lower rate of mortality in the farm could be attributed to their strict compliance in the farm disease preventive measures. Marketing is not a problem in this farm since most of the produce are intended for dispersal project. Rigid training to farm practice students on livestock supervision and zeothechnique skill improvement were highly emphasized.
