An income generating project, peanut production was conducted at Kaytambog, Indang, Cavite from October 1981 to February 1982. The land was prepared by plowing three times followed by harrowing with an interval of about two weeks to allow weed seeds to germinate. Planting was done on October 5, 1981. Two to three seeds of native brown bunchy type variety were planted in the furrows one foot apart. Weeding was employed upon the growth of excessive weeds in the project. Cultivation was done by hilling up three weeks after planting to kill weeds and loosen the soil.
Complete fertilizer (14-14-14) was applied before planting by basal application. On November 9, 1981, the first flowering was observed. This continued until the end of the month. Marketing was done on February 22, 1981, right after the pods were cured.
