Abstract: This study was conducted to determine the cost and return of producing two fattening hogs. This was conducted at Kaytambog, Indang, Cavite from October 15, 1981 to March 15, 1982. This project was supported by DSAC AEOP (Agricultural Education Outreach Project) by providing us a loan amounting to P 2,127,85 for a period of six months. The hogs which were of Berkshire and Landrace breed came from a well known piggery farm in Tanza, Cavite. The management practices employed by the farmer coo-perator and Student Outreach Agent (S0A) were housing, feeding, record keeping, disease prevention and control and marketing. The stocks were fed three times a day with B-meg commercial feeds during the entire period of the study. Wet system of feeding was practiced. Feed additives were also supplemented like rice bran, kitchen refuses, gabi, coconut grits, and ipil-ipil leaf meal to minimize cost of expenses. Records of the project were analyzed and interpreted in order to know the cost and return of producing two fate tening hogs. The hogs gave a monetary return of P404.47 marketed liveweight at the current price of y 12.00/kilogram with an average body weight of 99 kilograms.
