Abstract: This Farm Practice Training Program was under-taken at the barrio of Lumipa, General Aguinaldo, Cavite to determine the feasibility of growing corn as an income-generating project of the student outreach agent and the farmer-cooperator. This study also aimed to help farmers by imparting knowledge on the proper use of high yielding varieties of corn and some cultural practices. The capital inputs used for purchasing materials was loaned by the student outreach agent (SOA) from the Don Severino Agricultural College-Agricultural Education Outreach Project. An area of one hectare was thoroughly prepared by plowing and harrowing twice alternately followed by planting. Due to unfavorable weather conditions, plan-ting was done late and P856 out of P 2,261.60 was used for purchasing materials for mango production. The remaining funds amounting to P460.10 was paid to hire emergency laborers. As the weeds start to germinate, cultivation and weeding started. Split application of fertilizer was done. One half of the total amount of fertilizer was applied on planting time and the other half was applied when the plants are almost knee-high. Harvesting was done at exactly 115 days after planting followed by husking and drying under the heat he sun. The farmer grossed only P 2,296.90 in corn 'action and P 4,000 in mango production. A total net income of 1'3.150.17 was obtained after deducting a total labor and material expenses of P3,l46.73.
