An income generating project on peanut production was conducted at Cabuco Trece Martires City from September 1982 to January 1983. The land was prepared by plowing two times followed by harrowing with an interval of two weeks to allow weed
seeds to germinate
Planting was done on September 29, 1982. Two to three seeds were drilled in the furrows. Weeding was done as the need arose. Cultivation was done by hilling up the soil three weeks after planting to kill weeds and to loosen the same.
A combination of 50 kilograms of complete fertilizer (14-14-14) and 25 kilograms of urea (45-0-0) per hectare was applied basally.
Harvesting was done by pulling the plant.
Marketing was done by selling the 22 cans of dried peanuts which were sold at P33.00 per can and 13 cans of fresh peanuts at 25 per can. The total gross income was P1, 051.00. After deducting the expenses of P780.00 the computed net income was P271.00.
