The project was conducted in DSAC Poultry Project from October 25 to December 10, 1982. This was conducted to determine the cost of producing a kilogram of broiler, and to know the different activities involved in managing the project. A total of 200 day old chicks were used in the project. Chicks were housed in an electrical brooder for four weeks. Birds were fed with commercial feeds and fed Ad libitum throughout the cycle. Fresh drinKing water was
made available at all times. Strict hygiene and sanitation was properly observed to prevent the occurence of dreadful diseases. A net return of P589.60 for 199 heads of broiler with a total body weight of 278.6 kilograms at six weeks was realized after deducting the total amount of expenses from the total sales of broilers. Birds consumed a total of 599 kilograms of feed, having a 2.2 kilogram feed efficiency rate. Broiler performance under DSAC condition is good enough especially if efficient management practices are employed.
