Abstract: This Farm Practice was conducted at the Philippine Rural Life Center barn in Palapala, Dasmariflas, Cavite from April 27, 1981 to June 2, 1981. It aimed to gather information about the livestock management employed in the farm and to have an actual exposure on both managerial and work skill. At the time of the field training the farm had 500 goats, 51 cattle, 120 pigs, 39 rabbits, 40 geese, 70 peking ducks and 15 cheeps of different breeds. Gable roof type and central system of housing were provided to goats, shed type for cattle and central hog house for swine, host of the vacant areas not occupied by the buil-ding were planted with forage crops with pasture division. The herd was fed with concentrates; legumes and grasses were supplemented. The healthy and properly developed animals were used for breeding. Sanitation, immunization and quarantine procedures were strictly observed and followed in the farm. The farm was primarily engaged in upgrading and increasing the livestock production in neighboring provinces through their livestock dispersal program.
