This farm practice was conducted at Edna Vida's pen at Barangay II, Indang, Cavite from August to ember 1990 to gain knowledge and skills on actual management of hog fattening, to determine the profitability of hog fattening; and to harness the dent's entrepreneurial skills in operating swine enterprise. Three weanlings were used in the project. They were with commercial hog starter mash on the first month, grower mash on the second to fourth month and fattener/finisher mash on the finishing stage. Feeding was twice a day at 7:00 in the morning and 5:00 in the afternoon. Fresh and clean drinking water was made available at all times. The hogs were dewormed on the fourth month of the project operation. The project invested a total capital of P 9,847.25 and total sales of P 2,948.75.
It was noted that after four months of the growing period, fattener should have been marketed.
