This farm practice project was conducted at the Piggery project of the Don Severino Agricultural Col-lege, Indang, Cavite from May 6, 1992 to September 3, 1992 to gain experience in the actual management of raising hogs, to harness entrepreneural skills in operating a hog fattening project, to gain managerial experience in integrating agribusiness concepts and to evaluate the different swine production parameters in relation to the profitability of the enterprise. Ten weanlings were used in the project. They were fed with commercial hog starter mash (18% CP) on the first two weeks of operation. On the second and third months, the hogs were given commercial hog grower mash (16% CP) while on the fourth month, they were fed with commercial hog finisher mash (14% CP). The hogs attained a feed conversion efficiency of 2.92 and a lower average cumulative feed consumption of 160 kg. than the projected amount. The actual body weight (71.4 kg) of the hogs was lower than the projected because of the lower feed intake and due to lower rate of growth of animals. A net income of P1,554083 per hog was realized.
