Abstract: The Farm Practice entitled "Intercropping Squash with Bush Snap Beans" was conducted at the Production area of Don Severino Agricultural College from October 1992 to March 1993. It aimed to develop new knowledge in handling intercropping project. An area of 1,000 square meter field was thoroughly prepared by plowing and harrowing. After the last harrowing, holes were prepared with a circumference of 30 cm wide and 40 cm deep at a distance of two (2) meters between rows and two (2) meters between hills. Furrows for snap beans were set in between rows of squash at a distance of 40 cm between rows. Basal application of chicken manure was properly done at the rate of two (2) kg per hole for squash and two (2) tons per hectare for snap beans. Harvesting of snap beans was done forty-five days after planting, while for squash, five months after planting. Squash yielded 185 fruits which were sold at P12.00 each On the other hand bush snap beans gave a total harvest of 155 kilogram and were sold at P15.00/kg., thus giving a gross income of P4,545.00. After deducting the overall expenses of P2,708.85, the project attained a net income of P1,836.15. Return on investment of the project was 67.78%.
